How to Hire Staff For Your Next Event
Posted on 07/03 by Erin Helms
Summer is the busy season for just about everyone, between festivals, big corporate events, trade shows, concerts, parties, etc. It’s the time of year when your company might be over-extended in terms of having enough staff on hand to fulfill all your demands, or maybe you just wish you had some extra people to help lighten the workload for everyone and make things run even more smoothly. The good news is that LaborMAX can help! The solution to your stress is hiring staff on an event-by-event basis, as needed, to have extra hands available when needed. As a staffing company, we work with job candidates who have all kinds of specialized skills, some of whom are looking for a little extra cash and would like to take temporary work to fill their bank accounts while they have the chance. Here’s why you should consider hiring staff in partnership with LaborMAX for your summer event needs:
Access to skilled workers when you need them, for as long as you need them
As a staffing company, we go through a screening process with all our job candidates as part of their onboarding. We know their abilities, strengths and can match the right candidates with your exact needs -- quickly! All you need to do is tell us what you need and how many people you’d like to add, and we’ll find them for you.
Reduced time and cost for hiring
By working with LaborMAX, you’ll hand over the task of hiring. We’ll search through our candidate database to find qualified people, contact them, and if they agree to the job, we’ll sign them up for the duration you need. We also handle job postings, as needed, in addition to interviews and background checks where applicable, so you can focus on your mile-long to-do list. And because you’re partnering with us, we’ll also handle payroll and all other paperwork for these employees, so your staff is free to continue with their regular responsibilities.
It’s a far more flexible arrangement that allows you to scale up or down as needed
If you know you’ll need a dozen people to set up an event but only 10 or 8 to break it down, we can provide exactly the number of people you need for your event. There’s no long-term commitment to bring someone onto your payroll as a permanent employee only to let them go after the summer months or when demand decreases.
Last-minute emergency changes your need? We can address that
If half your team calls out sick the night before your biggest event of the year, call LaborMAX. If your event suddenly has a 50% increase in expected attendance, call LaborMAX. We can contact our qualified employees looking for temporary work and have each position filled quickly. Short notice is not a problem for us -- and it won’t be a problem for you either.
Take your hiring to the max with LaborMAX
Even the most detail-oriented event organizer knows human nature can throw off the most carefully scripted event. By working with LaborMAX, you can feel confident that no matter what happens, you’ll have exactly the number of employees you need to make the event a resounding success. Summer 2026 Event Staffing: Coverage When It Counts in Six Host Cities
Match Week 2026 is heading to Kansas City, Miami, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, and Seattle — and if you run a hotel, a venue, a facility, or an event-services company in one of those cities, the headline isn't the matches. It's the squeeze. When hundreds of thousands of visitors land in a single market over a few weeks, every operation that touches them feels it at once. Front desks get slammed. Banquet floors run short. Parking lots, loading docks, and event corridors need bodies that didn't exist on the schedule last year. And the labor pool you normally pull from? It's getting recruited away by everyone else trying to staff the same surge. This is the part most operators underestimate. The crowds are predictable. The labor gap that comes with them is what catches teams flat-footed.

Here's what the numbers say, and what they mean for your business.

The April employment report delivered a stronger-than-expected signal for employers: growth is happening, but companies still need flexibility to keep pace. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall nonfarm employment increased in April, with the economy adding 115,000 jobs. That number came in well above the expected median forecast of 65,000 jobs, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists. Temporary staffing also moved in a positive direction. U.S. temporary employment rose by 7,900 jobs, reaching 2.5 million temporary jobs in April. While temporary employment remains below its March 2022 peak of nearly 3.2 million, the latest numbers suggest that staffing activity is beginning to firm up. Staffing Industry Analysts Economist Michael Schultz described the April results as “surprisingly strong,” adding that “this is the first time since last summer where a strong month was not immediately followed by a weak month.” For companies evaluating their workforce plans, that matters.
